Good size. The outside of the kiln does not stay cool as advertised and stated by others. I would not recommemd touching it even with oven mitts until it has cooled some.Would also highly recommend buying ceramic kiln posts to lift the kiln off of the surface of your microwave.Other than those two points, it works well and will melt just about any glass that you can fit inside. It does have a learning curve and you will need to “play” with it to get the knack. Don’t expect picture perfect or even recognizable results at first. Lol But with getting familiar with it, you will eventually produce some pretty sweet pieces.
