H&S Competent Person Service Our H&S Competent Person Service has been designed to assist small companies; sole traders and self-employed tradesmen to fulfill their statutory duties under Regulation 7 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.  All companies in the UK are required to have access to Competent H&S Advice and Support to help their business understand and implement the health and safety regulations that affect their activities. Working in the Construction and Building sectors means that you will be dealing with Health and Safety issues on a daily basis and health and safety is often an integral part of your everyday work.  But whilst a lot of H&S issues can resolved with simple common sense, can you honestly say that you fully understand all of your responsibilities and duties under the mountain of Health and Safety Legislation which covers the Construction Industry?  Well you certainly wouldn’t be alone if you didn’t and that is exactly why the UK Government and the Health and Safety Executive have deemed it necessary for ALL companies in the UK, regardless of size, to ensure that they have access to Competent Health and Safety Advice, which can be provided through a Competent Person Service such as that offered here, by Your Safety Advisor Ltd – the Construction Safety Specialists! You may also be required to demonstrate to the likes of CHAS; SMAS; SafeContractor; ConstructionLine and other SSIP Assessment Schemes that you have access to a H&S Competent Person Service.  Our H&S Competent Person Service has therefore been designed to aid and support companies which operate in the Building and Construction sectors.  We cover all trades and professions and offer a cost effective and affordable H&S Competent Person Service which enables you to both demonstrate to others that you have access to Competent H&S Support and that you are able to use as and when needed to help you manage your Health and Safety Responsibilities. Our H&S Competent Person Service, is also known as our Retained Health and Safety Advisor Service and it is provided for a one-off annual fee, no ongoing monthly fees, no hidden costs, just a simple one-off payment to cover you for 12 months, then you can decide to renew or not, we do NOT tie you into lengthy and expensive multi-year contracts like many others health and safety consultants do! Your named Construction Safety Advisor will hold the following Memberships/Accreditations: Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH) Incorporated Member of the Association of Project Safety (IMaPS) NEBOSH Diploma Qualified Chartered Civil Engineer (MICE CEng) Chartered Environmental and Water Manager (CEnv MCIWEM CWEM) Civil Engineering Honours Degree (BEng (Hons)) Additionally, Your Safety Advisor Ltd is SSIP Accredited. So, why do I need to appoint a Competent Person / Health & Safety Advisor? Very simply because the law requires it, under Regulation 7 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 each employer must appoint one or more ‘competent persons’ to assist them with the management of health and safety. Our H&S Competent Person Service therefore provides a cost effective and affordable resource that you can call upon, as and when needed. It saves you from having to directly employ your own full time Health and Safety person. Plus, it enables you to name us as your ‘Competent Person’ or ‘Retained H&S Advisors’ – meaning that you can use our CV; qualifications and experience etc, in support of yourself or your company whilst applying for third party accreditation’s such as CHAS; SMAS; SafeContractor; ConstructionLine etc…… To put it simply, we provide ongoing H&S support to SMEs; sole traders and self-employed tradesmen/contractors etc who do not directly employ an in-house health & safety person.  Although our H&S Competent Person Service can also be used to provide additional specialist support to those who already have in-house H&S expertise. Our H&S Competent Person Service provides: A named “competent person” to help you comply with legislation A Chartered Safety Practitioner (CMIOSH) / Chartered Construction Professional (MICE CEng) Specialist Construction / Building Health and Safety Consultancy A CV for your named Competent Person, plus copies of Training and Membership Certificates if needed A Membership Certificate confirming that you have retained our services as your Competent Person A resource to be called upon, as and when required Unlimited access to telephone/email advice and support from your Competent Person Access to our exclusive online Safety Box service Access to Sample templates and Safety Guidance documents Out of hours emergency contact for continual support Discounts on any additional consultancy work Priority response over non-contract clients All of our Advice is covered by our Professional Indemnity Insurance, providing you with additional protection 5 Star Service Our Competent Person Service will cost you less then £1.00 per day! Please note that our Retained Health and Safety Advisor Service and our H&S Competent Person Service are exactly the same service, under different names.  We are required to do this as different clients will search for the same thing using different words, it is not meant to cause any confusion. Shipping

Shipping is calculated at checkout based on the contents of your cart and the shipping address. This takes into account product weight and dimensions, and whether the location being sent to is metro, regional or remote. The price will change depending on whether it is a commercial or residential address. There is an extra charge for items marked as *Dangerous Goods by the courier.

Please note, that we are currently using Freight Exchange as a freight broker. Their terms & conditions are listed here.

We ship to most destinations in Australia. If the checkout does not allow your shipping address, please contact us and we will see what we can do to help.

We use different couriers depending on rates and services available, including Border Express, Couriers Please and Australia Post. If you have a specific reason to use or not use a particular courier please let us know.

We will generally insure any delivery above $500, BUT;

Freight damages MUST be reported to us within 24 hours of delivery for insurance claims on damages to be realised. Where possible please inspect the delivery for external damage to the packaging, and if damage is suspected inspect the goods BEFORE signing for the delivery.

Please refuse any obviously damaged deliveries (smashed panels, dented batteries) and ask the delivery driver to return the delivery to the depot and report the damages to us ASAP.

If you have granted “Authority to leave” or missed the driver, or have your delivery made to a depot, have the receiver inspect the delivery and please report any freight damage to us directly with photos via email within 24 hours of the delivery being made.

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee damages will be covered by insurance if they are reported after 24 hours from the time of delivery.

It varies greatly based on the destination and the products ordered. Orders are usually dispatched from our warehouse in Preston, VIC within 48 hours. You can use the estimates below as a rough guide for shipping time:

  • VIC and SA: 1-2 days
  • QLD and NSW: 2-3 days
  • NT, WA and TAS: 3-10 days +

These estimates do not apply if the destination is regional or remote. Once orders leave our warehouse we have very little control over the actual shipping time. If you need a more accurate estimate of shipping time please contact us.
