The mechanical kit is the foundation of your CNC Machine. A mechanical kit includes all the mechanical components needed to build your CNC Machine; All the screws, Tee Nuts, wheels, plates, etc. A Mechanical Kit is a perfect choice if you plan on bringing your own CNC Controller, Stepper Motors, or Other Electronics. CNC Add-Ons are required to complete a CNC Machine. These include the electronic system that will control the machine, cable management, and the tool that will be mounted to the machine. About the Ox CNC The Ox CNC is a simple designed belt-driven CNC router. The Ox CNC was the foundation that the WorkBee CNC was based on. The Ox CNC is incredibly simple to assemble and is suitable for milling wood, foam, plastic, soft metals, and more. The Ox has gone through several versions with the most recent being Version 4 which has gantry plates that are designed to work with a belt, leadscrew, and even gear rack transmission. The Ox CNC Machine is a 4 axis (3 1) machine, this means there is 3 physical axis (X, Y, Z) and a slave axis of Y which is called the A Axis. The Ox CNC is our most customizable CNC machine and can be supplied in almost any size imaginable. If the application requires a cutting area of larger than 1.5m the Ox is our solution. Common customization of the Ox is a footprint of 3m x 1.5m which allows for a whole sheet of timber to be machined. This is incredibly desirable for woodworkers who wish to have a CNC router that can work on full sheets. With an accuracy of 0.10-0.20mm the Ox CNC is a great router for the hobby woodworker who wants to get into CNC woodworking. The Ox CNC also costs less than its Leadscrew cousins, with fewer functional parts in the bill of materials than a Leadscrew CNC machine. The Ox CNC is easily customized and adaptable, all parts of the machine are generic and modular encouraging additions and alterations after the initial mechanical build. Every Ox CNC is packed with off-the-shelf parts, every part is available individually from Maker Store. The modular design of the Ox CNC makes customizing the mechanical build extremely easy to do and replacing any parts affordable and easy to source.   To increase the accuracy of the belt and pulley transmission a system called the Everman Belt Drive System (commonly called “double belting”) can be used. This is a simple modification that reduces the flex that the timing belt naturally has over the long axis. Basically, two belts work together to remove any stretch that is experienced in the timing belt so that the only stretch is less than 30mm between the wheel and pulley. Shipping

Shipping is calculated at checkout based on the contents of your cart and the shipping address. This takes into account product weight and dimensions, and whether the location being sent to is metro, regional or remote. The price will change depending on whether it is a commercial or residential address. There is an extra charge for items marked as *Dangerous Goods by the courier.

We ship to most destinations in Australia. If the checkout does not allow your shipping address, please contact us and we will see what we can do to help.

We use different couriers depending on rates and services available, including Border Express, Couriers Please and Australia Post. If you have a specific reason to use or not use a particular courier please let us know.

We will generally insure any delivery above $500, BUT;

Freight damages MUST be reported to us within 24 hours of delivery for insurance claims on damages to be realised. Where possible please inspect the delivery for external damage to the packaging, and if damage is suspected inspect the goods BEFORE signing for the delivery.

Please refuse any obviously damaged deliveries (smashed panels, dented batteries) and ask the delivery driver to return the delivery to the depot and report the damages to us ASAP.

If you have granted “Authority to leave” or missed the driver, or have your delivery made to a depot, have the receiver inspect the delivery and please report any freight damage to us directly with photos via email within 24 hours of the delivery being made.

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee damages will be covered by insurance if they are reported after 24 hours from the time of delivery.

It varies greatly based on the destination and the products ordered. Orders are usually dispatched from our warehouse in Preston, VIC within 48 hours. You can use the estimates below as a rough guide for shipping time:

  • VIC and SA: 1-2 days
  • QLD and NSW: 2-3 days
  • NT, WA and TAS: 3-10 days +

These estimates do not apply if the destination is regional or remote. Once orders leave our warehouse we have very little control over the actual shipping time. If you need a more accurate estimate of shipping time please contact us.

RETURNS

Thanks for shopping at Preston Off Grid. If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, we’re here to help.

You have 30 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.

To be eligible for a return:

  • Your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it.
  • Your item must be in the original packaging.
  • Your item needs to have a receipt or proof of purchase.
  • Change of Mind returns may incur a restocking fee.

Once we receive your item:

  1. We will inspect it and notify you that we have received your returned item.
  2. We will immediately notify you on the status of your refund after inspecting the item.
  3. If your return is approved, we will initiate a refund to your credit card (or original method of payment).
  4. You will receive the credit within a certain amount of days, depending on your card issuer’s policies.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non­refundable.

If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

ALL requests for warranty or service MUST be lodged via our E-6000 GLUE – 1 OZ. We will NOT accept any goods without an RMA being allocated to you first.

Goods that are covered by a Manufacturer’s Warranty will be eligible for a replacement or repair, at the discretion of the manufacturer.

DOA (Dead on Arrival) warranty claims must be lodged within 7 days of receiving goods. It is the customer’s responsibility to inspect all goods within this time period.

We do not provide replacements to cover you while your item is tested or repaired under warranty. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure they have sufficient backup equipment to cover them in the event of equipment failure. We highly recommend people who are living off-grid, or using our equipment for mission-critical applications, invest in backup Inverters and Solar Charge Controllers.

Freight damage claims must be lodged within 7 days of receiving goods. It is the customer’s responsibility to inspect all goods within this time period. We will not accept any claims outside of this time period.
