I bought two boxes of these in hopes of helping fill up a new penny book I’ve been working on. Few pros and cons but my biggest issue was the damaged coins. The 2 boxes contained 124 wheat pennies total. Of those there were 2 dated in the teens which is about what I expected. The problem was that one was completely trashed, it looked like it was hit with sandpaper and i struggled to even read the date. In my pictures I’ve got them sorted by decade split between the 2 boxes. Top row is 50s, middle is 40s and the bottom is 30s. The few coins in the bottom left were teens and 20s. I also included a picture of the 3 trashed coins. The sanded 1917, a heavily damaged 1920 and a 1940s that someone tried to punch and bent it.ProsLots of different dates present. Between the 2 boxes every year from 1940 to 58 was present as well as a good chunk of 30s. Each box contained one steel cent and I was lucky enough to get different mint marks in each box (p and a d). The extra coins were an added bonus (12 in each)Cons.Lots of Philadelphia mints. Between the entire 2 boxes I only had 1 s mint (I was lucky enough for that single coin to be a 24s though). Seeing the handful of heavily damaged coins was a bit of a let down, I was under the impression they were all going to be in average condition and there wouldn’t be any junk in the box.I’m on the fence about whether or not I would buy another box. If the 1924s wouldn’t have shown up it would be a hard no. If you’re looking to start a collection though it isn’t a bad start.
